The June 09 edition of TheComicSpot features a great audio tour through an exhibition held at the NGV International called 'The Satirical Eye:comedy and critique from Hogarth to Daumier'.
Bernard Caleo is joined in the gallery by Dr Petra Kayser, Assistant Curator of Prints & Drawings who put together the exhibition and cartoonist Simon Barnard who is a keen student of Australian cartooning.
Back in the studio Bernard and Simon join me to discuss Simon's work with the Hobart Mercury and Australian Mad Magazine. We also (sort of) discuss the role of cartooning in Australia both past and present.
