Great stuff! Two of our best practitioners of the form having a chinwag
The discussion about architecture reminded me of an Art Spiegelman line I read recently: The word 'story' came from the medieval Latin 'historia', which meant 'picture', as well as 'a horizontal division of a building'. Latin users derived this conflation from the medieval practice of placing colour pictures in the windows of a building, especially churches. A storey was literally a row of coloured pictures. (I took this quote from Daniel Raeburn's book on Chris Ware. Below it he adds a quote by Goethe: "Architecture is frozen music.")
