How remiss of me... Melbourne Writers Festival events.

I've been too busy to notice every festival and goings on around town that might be comic related and of some interest but it was particularly bad form to forget the Writers Festival.

Here's a few events that may be of interest...
 - Illustrators in Residence at Fed Square. Details. FREE. - daily
- Seeing the World Differently. Pat Grant and Bernard Caleo talk comics. Details - $6 Wed Sept 1
- The Alternative Hamlet. Bernard talks with Nicki Greenberg about her new book. Details- $6 Thurs Sept 2
- Picture This! Bernard talks up a storm about comics and gives hints. Details - $6 Thurs Sept 2
- Neil Gaiman with Shaun Tan and Andrea Innocent. Details. FREE but book. - Thurs Sept 2
- The launch of Francis Bear by Gregory Mackay. Details. FREE - Sat Sept 4

You can see what Bernard thinks of this extraordinary week here.

If I wasn't working this weekend there's no way  i would miss the launch and grab a (rare coz it's in English)copy of Francis Bear.

PHEW... who said too much comics are never enough?

Back to Business! Guests this week on TheComicSpot.

Coming up on this week's program will be two guests.

Amber Carvan and Michael Camilleri.

Amber is a long time cartoonist recently relocated to Melbourne and in charge of the fantastic comic rehab site. Looking forward to speaking to Amber about the ebbs and flows of doing your own comics and coordinating others to do theirs.

Michael's latest comic can be found in the latest edition of Going Down Swinging. My head was quietly blown whilst i read my preview copy on the bus home last week. I then proceeded to eat a dodgy potato cake and got food poisoning but I won't hold Michael responsible for that. In the end comics healed me!

Join Jo Waite and myself this Thursday at 5pm on 3CR. Bernard Caleo is on tour throughout regional Victoria and may join us on the line.

I will be starting to post older episodes to the archive again starting this week.

To make sure you never miss an episode subscribe to the 3CR DIYArts podcast on iTunes for the newest ones and subscribe to TheComicSpot on iTunes for all the archives and some occasional web only content.

And don't forget to LIKE US on facebook.
